Achasta Pool — luxury swimming inside the gates
A resort-style rectangular community pool with a defined lap-lane section, a wide paver deck, a member pool house, and a programmed family-and-swim-lesson season that runs mid-spring through October.
A resort-style community pool — with a real lap section.
The Achasta Pool is a rectangular, resort-style pool — not the round splash basin standard at older subdivisions. The basin is sized for genuine recreational swimming with a defined three-lane lap section rope-lined at one end and a broad shallow family end at the other. Maximum depth is at the deep end where the lap lanes terminate; the shallow end runs three to four feet for an extended stretch — usable for kids and for casual aqua-fitness.
The deck is wide stone-and-paver with built-in landscape buffers on the wooded side, lounge seating for roughly forty, and a small umbrella-shaded dining cluster. The pool house — a compact gabled stone-and-shake structure matching the clubhouse architecture — holds men’s and women’s changing rooms with showers and lockers, a small attendant office, and a covered patio extension with bar service on weekends.
Three tiers govern who has pool access.
Pool privileges are tied to membership tier — not to home ownership inside the gates. Three access patterns below; confirm current rules and any guest-pass count with the clubhouse office before any summer planning.
The sport / social tier.
Full pool privileges for the member, spouse, and children under household-age policy — unlimited daily access during operating hours, free use of the deck, locker access, and pool-house facilities. Sport tier typically also includes priority sign-up for swim lessons and aqua-fitness clinics. Monthly dues apply at this tier; no per-visit charge.
The full-golf tier.
Full-golf members automatically include every pool privilege the sport tier carries — pool access is rolled into the bundled membership rather than billed separately. Practical implication: if you plan to be a full-golf household, you do not pay incrementally for the pool. The pool is essentially a free amenity layered on top of the golf membership.
The guest-pass tier.
Visiting family and friends can use the pool as sponsored guests of a current member — subject to a per-season cap on guest-pass count and a per-day cap on party size. Guest fees, when charged, run through the sponsoring member’s account. Common buyer question: can my grandchildren use the pool when they visit? Almost always yes, within the cap.
The Achasta pool is a seven-month facility — longer than most North Georgia clubs.
Because the pool is heated for shoulder seasons, the operational window stretches well beyond Memorial Day to Labor Day. Sample schedule below — the exact open/close dates and daily hours are confirmed each year by the pool committee and posted in the member app.
| Phase | Window | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Early open | Mid-April — mid-May | Weekends only · 10 AM – 6 PM. Heated. Lap-lane priority. Light staffing. |
| Full summer | Memorial Day — Labor Day | Daily · 9 AM – 8 PM. Full lifeguard staffing. Swim lessons, junior swim team, programming live. |
| Late-season | Sept — mid-October | Daily · 10 AM – 7 PM. Heated, less crowded. The locals’ favorite stretch. |
| Closed | Late Oct — mid-April | Pool drained or covered for the winter. Pool house remains accessible for member meetings on a reservation basis. |
Member group lessons for ages 4–12 run in two-week sessions across the full summer; private lessons are bookable through the pool office year-round (heated months). The junior swim team meets weekday mornings during the full-summer window.
Adult quiet hours are held two evenings per week (typically Tuesday and Thursday) after 6 PM — no children under twelve. Lap-lane priority is enforced during posted morning windows. Adult-only swim is the strongest selling point for empty-nester buyers.
Expect occasional weather closures for thunderstorms (mountain summer norm) and 2–3 scheduled private-event closures per season (member parties, the July 4th member celebration, the end-of-season cookout). Closures are pushed to the member app the morning of.
“The pool is a real seven-month asset — not the two-month splash basin a lot of buyers assume mountain communities operate.”

For families with school-age kids or empty-nesters who plan to swim a daily lap, the pool is often the second-strongest amenity decision after the golf course. Gold Peach Realty coordinates a pool deck walk-through with every Achasta home tour — usually combined with the clubhouse visit on the same morning.
